Malaysia Eye Patients Society (MEPS), formerly known as Malaysia Glaucoma Society, was formed in March 2009 with a vision to fight and stop unnecessary blindness. Are you aware that 80% of all blindness is unnecessary? And every 5 seconds someone somewhere around the world loses their precious eyesight? That means 12 people every minute, 720 every hour, and 17,280 persons every day become Visually Impaired across the globe!

MEPS was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Stevens Chan after Stevens lost his eyesight to Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy in 2007, at the age of 45. With the loss of sight came the loss of hope. But thank GOD for HIS Grace and the love and support of his beloved wife Kaye. He slowly, but surely came out of his own darkness to answer this new calling in his life, to fight and stop unnecessary Blindness. In 2009, he and his wife founded the Malaysia Glaucoma Society, now renamed to Malaysia Eye Patients Society.

To fight and stop unnecessary blindness.
